An Architect Designed Holiday House In London – Kid & Coe

A couple of months ago we had a staycation in London staying at one of Kid & Coe‘s gorgeous family properties – The Ockenden Residence in Islington. This is one of those houses that you see in films about London and think that everyone lives in (when in fact most of us live in tiny two bedroom Victorian terraces). It was lovely to experience such a gorgeous family space and

A Winter Beach House – Crantock Beach, Cornwall

Our winter beach escape to Cornwall could not have come at a better time for me and Rex. Full of coughs and colds we were in definite need of some good blustery beach walks and Cornish air to clear out our lungs. It is the dream to stay in a beautiful family beach house overlooking the sea and this is what Cornish Gems do best. We spent our weekend at

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory Afternoon Tea: One Aldwych

Golden Chocolate Eggs, Lemon and White Chocolate Cake Pops and Rhubarb and Custard Candy Floss…did you know that 14th to 20th August is Afternoon Tea Week? Nope, neither did I but what a perfect excuse to indulge in one of the coolest afternoon teas in London – the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Afternoon Tea at the gorgeous One Aldwych Hotel. I think you either love or hate afternoon tea

Dim Sum Treats & River Views: Royal China London

I’ve always been proud of my Chinese heritage and spent most of my years growing up around the delicious street food of Singapore. Now I have my son, who is a quarter chinese, I’m keen to keep our heritage alive and show him all the cool things Chinese culture has to offer. Eating is a big part of asian living and so when Royal China invited us to go and eat some

Europa House: Luxury Family Abode In London

If you are planning a trip to London with the family but have no idea where to start with accommodation…then read on. Last week I got to have a little peek inside Europa House – a collection of one, two and three bedroom luxury apartments in the pretty canal area of Little Venice. The location is ten minutes from Paddington Station and walking distance to various undergrounds all just a few

Run Away With The Circus – Zippos

Last week we went to Zippos Circus and it was truly so much fun. I hadn’t planned on going, I generally don’t have a love of the circus but we were bored and in need of entertainment.  Well entertain it did and much more. T-Rex and I ate popcorn together, marvelled at the big top and enjoyed an afternoon of innocent laughter brought to us by some very talented and ‘real’ ringside performers.

Weekend In Gloucestershire: A Photo Story

As a confirmed free spirit who just wants to live by the ocean and drink out of coconuts, sometimes London living can get under my skin.  I have a love hate relationship with city living but give me a large natural open space and I’m anyone’s. We just spent last weekend in Gloucestershire and it came at a perfect time when living in our little London house with an almost ‘threenager’

Parent Escape: Spa Day at Chewton Glen, Hampshire

I recently received the best gift a mum can get  – a luxury spa day for Chewton Glen in Hampshire.  If you have not heard of Chewton Glen, it is the quintessential country house hotel and the ultimate Hampshire spa retreat. I’m afraid my photos aren’t wonderful because I was too busy relaxing but I did have a wonderful time and day out on my own which I always think

Family Day Out: Greenwich, London

If you’re heading to London as a family, you really should put Greenwich on your list of places to visit.  It ticks all the boxes for an easy family day out, largely helped by the enormous park space which you can retreat to should toddler/child boredom kick in.  Greenwich is one of those places where parents can enjoy a portion of good times too – it is right on the

Brazilian Street Art At The Horniman – South East London

The Horniman Museum has often been my saviour in times of toddler meltdown.  No it is not a place (as its name might suggest) to gain sexual gratification…unless a room full of taxidermy is what floats your boat. Instead it is an oasis of beautiful gardens overlooking London’s skyline and a museum with a schedule of events to entertain both adults and children. To coincide with the Rio Olympics, The
