Parent Escape: Paris

Aaah Paris!  How beautiful our weekend ALONE was.  It was a weekend of all those things you can’t do when your little darling is around (ahem! NOT that…well maybe a little bit:).  I’m talking spontaneity, uninterrupted chats, long lunches and late night dinners.  Mummies, I let my hair down (literally – not a hair tie in sight) and I urge you to do the same.  Book at least one night in

Five Hip And Hippie Hangouts In Ibiza

In my last Ibiza post I mentioned how we shared a babysitter so that we (the adults) could all have a bit of time out.  Whether that was going out for dinner, lunch or having a day on the beach, here are a few places we ended up minus the kids. Ses Calinata, Ibiza Old Town I love this bar near the top of the old town for its laid

Ibiza Luxury Family Villa With Friends

Sorry for my silence everyone but last week we were in one of my favourite Balearics, Ibiza.  No I didn’t take T-Rex clubbing at Pascha but he did enjoy a beachclub or two and time in our lovely luxury family villa Can Sabinas.  We went with our friends who have a son a similar age to T-Rex and it worked perfectly. Since having T-Rex we have adopted the ‘rent a villa

A Play Park And Colombia Road Flower Market

Sunny Sundays are made for flower markets. Pre T-Rex I used to love to go for a mosey around Brick Lane and Colombia Road Flower Market, have a spot of lunch at one of the little cafes, a little afternoon drink at one of the pubs. Now I’d think twice because taking a toddler to one of London’s busiest markets is my idea of hell.  When a friend recently suggested we

3 Cool Kids Clubs in Europe

As a relatively new (and rather tired) mummy, I am quite unwilling to relinquish my entire holiday to running around after my little one.  I have been researching stylish hotels with equally brilliant and fun kids clubs.  I knew that they were out there. Here are three that I really like the sound of and will hopefully be able to personally review for you in time to come. Marbella Club

Mummy’s Day Off: Bermondsey Street

I’ve had quite a few nice days off recently.  Since T-Rex started two days (yes two whole days!) at nursery, I have a new found freedom which I had forgotten about.  I think I’ve got a bit of Abbie back!  Last week I met a friend for lunch in Bermondsey Street, one of my favourites for London food.  We went to Jose’s tapas and sherry bar which, I might add, is

Shopping, Mount Vesuvius and A Play Park In Sorrento

It is always handy to have an emergency play park up your sleeve whilst you are on holiday.  Knowing about one that is within close proximity could save you from the inevitable meltdown that might occur when you have, for example, kept your mini traveller strapped in the pram for three hours too long whilst shopping in Italy…as I discovered. The part of Italy I am talking about is Sorrento.

Cotehele Villas, Plymouth

Plymouth has never been on my wish list but our stay just on the outskirts of the city centre, in the pretty area of Stoke was this weekend’s perfect base to explore the area and South Devon.  Being toddler-free meant we could enjoy some much needed down time and discover that Plymouth has quite a few hidden gems, one of which was the gorgeous Bed & Breakfast that is Cotehele Villas. As much as

Cool Car Tunes For Kids (and Mama)

I have been known to make ‘Old MacDonald Had A Farm’ last the entire car journey from London to Basingstoke – non stop. That is approximately an hour and a half.  Old MacDonald’s Farm has acquired a whole new set of exotic animals in this time and my vocal chords have reached new Hyena-esque heights.  Sometimes, for variation, i’ll mix it up with ‘Row Row Row Your Boat’ and then

Luxury Family Spa at Six Senses Ninh Van Bay

The Six Senses Ninh Van Bay in Vietnam was one of my big inspirations for creating this blog.  Before T-Rex, I wouldn’t have even considered that spa-goers and families could quite happily holiday next to one another, or that they would even want to.  However, this luxury Robinson Crusoe style resort is, I believe, the perfect combination of grown up relaxation and cool kid adventures. It might have been the beautiful
