10 Not-Too-High-Waisted Bikini Bottoms
I have been debating this season’s high-waisted bikini bottoms with my mum pals. The consensus is, there are pros and cons. In theory they are ideal for a more voluptuous figure – ample coverage around tummy with the bonus of maybe covering up a scar, enough material at the back to be a bum lifter and best of all you can pretend you are a hot 1950’s siren on the beach, a la Sophia Loren.
Unfortunately, if you have short legs (that’s me!) some high waists can make your legs look even shorter. Also, if the waist is too high or too tight, muffin tops can be squeezed upwards and over…eeek! I found that a not-too-high-waisted bikini bottom looks better ie. waist band on or just below the belly button plus wearing a not too fussy bikini top (strapless if possible) detracts from these downsides and makes everything (yes even the fat) look sexier. Couple this with a tan and you’ll be the beauty of the beach.
There are lots of different high waists out there so try a few before deciding. Here are some of my favourite not-too-high-waisted bikini bottoms from designers and the high street.
All of the above bikini bottoms are part of a full set bikini. For more bikinis ideas follow my Instagram page here
I love a pair of high waisted bikini bottoms hides a multitude of sins! Though I agree about the short leg thing, I have a super long body and short legs – the wrong way round! X
Haha! Yes they are deceptive! But they are also brilliant when you get them right…lets hope they stick around;)X
