Ho Chi Minh City With A Three Month Old

We took our three month old to Vietnam.  Sounds crazy but it was actually one of the easier holidays we had with our portable, non-moving, always sleeping, breast-feeding bean.  We visited Ho Chi Minh City during Tết – the Vietnamese new year.  Going to Vietnam during this time with a baby wasn’t a strategic move but it turned out to be hugely advantageous due to there being less people and therefore less pram vs people struggles on

The Happy Hotel – Cowley Manor, Cotswolds

I realise that many of my posts start with “pre-child I used to like…” followed by some reminiscing about life before T-Rex.  This is because things have changed for me since having a child and it’s not all been for the worse (which might sometimes be construed). Whereas before I had definite ideas about what I did and didn’t want, now I am much more flexible (largely due to

Three Cool and Crafty Travel Buggies

If you are planning a family holiday you will need an easy and portable buggy, not too big but not too flimsy, comfortable and compact.  There are so many to choose from but these are the three that I would consider. The One You Can Take On The Plane As Hand Luggage – Babyzen Yoyo This buggy folds down into a bag which you can take on the plane and store

5 Reasons To Take Your Toddler To The Beach

The other day I thought “I’ve had enough of groundhog day and this freezing cold weather, I need some beach action” and so packed myself and T-Rex off to my hometown of Bournemouth.  I’m so glad we did. We had the nicest few days hanging out in our wellies and bobble hats down at the beach, breathing in fresh sea air and generally getting a change of scenery. The absolute

Magical Lantern Festival – Chiswick House, London

If you haven’t managed to get to see this yet, you should – it’s amazing.  There is still a week left to visit the debuting Magical Lantern Festival at Chiswick House in London.  We went last night and it was a truly lovely evening although a bit cold so wrap up warm.  T-Rex had a late night and although it wasn’t without a couple of tantrums, plus a pot

The Body Camp – Ibiza

If someone offered me the chance to go on a health retreat anywhere in the world, I’d choose Bali or Ibiza. Both have amazing spiritual connections and holistic vibes and just stepping foot on these magical islands changes your state of mind.  These days Ibiza is the much easier option for me, Bali is reserved for ‘parent escapes’. So when a friend told me they were setting up The Body Camp,

Three Alpine Chic Family Chalets

I am desperate to take T-Rex skiing – goodness knows why, he’ll probably be off piste before I know it.  The mountains are really the only cold place I’d substitute for a beach holiday but I am yet to experience skiing with a toddler, surely there’s nothing to it right?  Whilst everyone has been posting pics of their chic snow outfits and enjoying their après ski, I have been living

Bioparc – An African Zoo In Valencia

Weird concept I know, to have an African zoo in Spain but our discovery of Bioparc in Valencia was actually a very cool find.  I’m really not into the idea of zoos but since having T-Rex, me and the zoo have become good friends.  They are a good family day out and it seems that many zoos these days are conservation projects for endangered species which makes me feel better about

Beach House Fun In Byron Bay

A second reminiscent post about Australia! Can you tell I’m pining for sunshine?  Our Christmas break in Oz  last year was a lush, beachy, road tripping eight weeks which I would do all over again.  I am a hippy at heart and so the little boho town of Byron Bay was always going to be a highlight.  To top it off we were with friends and so rented a gorgeous family beach

Pool With A View – North Sydney Olympic Pool

This time last year we were getting ourselves ready for an Aussie Christmas down under.  If you have never celebrated Christmas in the sun, it can be a bit of a weird one…but in a good way.  In Australia, Christmas day  is all about seafood platters or BBQs on the beach followed by a festive swim in the pool or the sea.  One of the most amazing pools (I think)
